PTO Board Nomination & 501c3 Nomination forms Good afternoon TJEMS! You should see two nomination forms coming home in your youngest or only child's folder. Because the names of the two boards are similar we wanted to clarify that there are two separate groups being elected and two different nomination forms. In case you do not see the paper copies come home in the folders, I have also attached the nomination forms here. 1. The first nomination form is to fill the TJEMS PTO Executive Board. These roles are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Teacher/Staff representative. These roles carry out the functions of the regular PTO activities such as monthly meetings, fundraising events, back to school events, managing the PTO general account and technology fund etc. 2. The second nomination form is to fill the TJEMS 501c3 Board/Advisory Committee. These roles are parent advisory members-at-large. These roles are related specifically to the 501c3 and discussion and decision making regarding the 501c3 capital campaign and associated 501c3 funds and fund disbursement decisions. Once the nomination forms have been collected, nominees will be contacted to confirm their interest in running. Election ballots will then be distributed in April, and election results announced in May. We hope that you will consider running for one of these important roles within the TJEMS community! At each workshop, our young writers will work closely with local authors and teachers in developing their craft. On Saturday, October 6th, we're kicking off the series at Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle with Elissa Brent Weissman, an award-winning author for young readers, who's best known for her Nerd Camp series. This workshop is geared towards students in grades 4-7, and participants will get a copy of OUR STORY BEGINS: Our Story Begins: Your Favorite Authors and Illustrators Share Fun, Inspiring, and Occasionally Ridiculous Things They Wrote and Drew as Kids. Final Days for Fall Festival Ads & Donations Ok TJ families. We are coming down the final stretch and are in need of A LOT of help. The committee worked hard to make this solicitation list easily accessible through a Google doc and so far the number of volunteers to help with this undertaking has been rather disappointing. We ask that you PLEASE look through the list and sign up to ask a business to support our event through either donating a silent auction item or placing an ad in our program. The "deadline" is THIS WEDNESDAY!!!! If every family agreed to ask 1 place we would be in great shape. The solicitation letter is attached with all needed information. Thank you for considering! https://docs... View File (MS WORD)

Fall Festival...Less Than 20 Days Left!! This is really happening, and really soon! We are asking once again to please look through the google doc here and help us solicit items for our silent auction and sell ad space in our program. If there is a local establishment you frequent and would like to ask, please do. Be sure to sign your name on the google doc so we are not asking more than once. We really need more help with this as it is a major undertaking. This is the biggest fundraiser for the PTO where we make over $20,000 profit. Please help us make this event as successful as possible. Attached is the solicitation letter with all of the information needed when speaking with businesses. There are copies in the main office as well. Feel free to reply to this email with any questions. Thank you! https://docs... View File (MS WORD)
